Abstract
123,017. Kayser, C. W., and Macdonald, D. W. Sept. 4, 1918. Couplings.-In joining sections d, d<1> of a furnace electrode by a screw plug c, a resilient metallic washer a is compressed between the ends of the sections. The washer a may consist of a plate with tongues a<1> punched out from it or attached to it on one or both sides by riveting, welding, brazing, &c. Copper is the preferred metal The conductivity at the joint may be further improved by the use of molasses.
