Abstract
1,230,168. Converting. LICENTIA PATENTVERWALTUNGS G.m.b.H. 24 April, 1968 [28 April, 1967], No. 19467/68. Heading H2F. In a control system for a mains-controlled p-pulse converter, the output of a single pulse generator 1, operating at p times the mains frequency, is distributed by a p-stage counter 5 to the control electrodes of the individual main converter elements. As shown in Fig. 3, a capacitor 14 is charged at a rate dependent on an input signal U st until a transistor toggle 11, 12 becomes switched, when capacitor 14 is discharged so as to feed a pulse to a store 2 which feeds a pulse shaping stage 3. The store 2 is reset and the end of each pulse which also steps a p-stage ring counter 5. Each pulse from the shaper 3 is fed via a distributer 6, under control of the ring counter 5 to the control electrode of the appropriate main converting element. A set of 3-phase pulses, synchronized with the mains 3 is generated in blocks 7 and 8 and fed via logic circuits 9 (Figs. 2 and 9, not shown) to control the upper and lower limits of phase control imposed on the pulse generator 1. Figs. 4-9 (not shown) relate to appropriate transistor circuits.
