Abstract

A scaffold board support member 10 is of elongate form with a threaded point 12 at one end and means at the other end for attaching the member to a scaffold upright, and also means for screwing the support member into a wall or frame of a building. The latter means consists of a bolt 18 with a radiallyprojecting arm 22 fixed across its head for leverage, which bolt can be inserted through a hole near the non-pointed end of the member 10 whereupon it can be rotated to screw the member into the wall. The member 10 can be attached to an upright, e.g. 26, either via a metal strap 28 (as shown) which is fastened to the member by the same bolt 18 in conjunction with a nut 32, or by drilling a horizontal hole in the upright, Fig. 3 (not shown), and passing the bolt 18 through the hole and securing it into a nut 14 fixed to the non- pointed end of member 10.
