Abstract

1,228,126. Prefabricated room unit. WRWPRODUKTER A.B. 12 March, 1969 [12 March, 1968], No. 13048/69. Heading E1A. In a prefabricated room unit (e.g. a bathroom) the walls comprise U-shaped cross section elongate members 3 joined at their flanges to adjacent members (e.g. by spot welding) and the floor includes I-beams made from two of these elongate members 3 by e.g. spot welding the webs together. A U-section rail 7 may define the perimeter of the ceiling and also the foot of the walls. The ceiling may be formed by a ply wood panel and gypsum boards 5 and 6 may clad the wall. Reinforcing plates, ribs or brackets may be secured adjacent areas of maximum load e.g. at the wash bowl and WC pedestal areas. Plastics coatings or claddings may be applied to the walls and the floor may be covered with a textile/plastics laminate or all the sheet metal elements may be sprayed with an asphaltbased composition. Heat-insulation sheets 4 may be arranged between the floor beams and mineral wool may be inserted between the wall facing boards.
