Abstract
1,226,909. Treatment of steel shot blasting agents. KNAPSACK A. G. July 22, 1969 [July 30, 1968], No.36731/69. Heading C7A. The wear resistance of steel shot, formed of particles having inner solidity, freedom from strains, smoothness, roundness and freedom from superficial cracks, with a particle size of 0À01- 3 mm and composed of an alloy comprising: - the balance being Fe, is improved by heating the shot for 1-5 hours at 200 -500 C. The shot, which may be prepared by atomization or nozzle spraying using water, steam, air or nitrogen with a pressure of 1-13 atmosphere gauge, or by granulating a melt on a plate, cone or groove. The shot may be used as a blasting agent for metal, glass or stone.
