Abstract
1,226,874. Photographic materials. PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPEN FABRIEKEN N.V. April 1, 1968 [April 4, 1967], No. 15538/68. Heading G2C. A photo-sensitive material comprises a support with an electrically non-conductive surface coated with or impregnated with an aromatic diazosulphonate which has a main maximum light absorption between 280 and 360 nm and an additional maximum around 420 nm and a sensitizer which is acridone, 5-aminoacridine HNO 3 , 2-(p-aminophenyl)-6- methyl benzothiazole, Mickler's ketone, pdimethylamino benzaldehyde or beta-napthylamine; these sensitizers having a maximum light absorption around 365 nm and optionally luminescent around 420 nm and increasing the molar extinction co-efficient by at least 2. The material may also contain an anti-regression agent which may also be a coupler. In the examples, a cellulose acetate support which is surface saponified is impregnated with a diazosulphonate and a sensitizer. The material is imagewise exposed and treated in a bath containing mercurous and silver nitrate to form a metal germ image which is developed by a solution of ferrous ammonium sulphate and ferric nitrate. The material may be stored at 50% relative humidity with no loss of sensitivity.
