A coupling piece for securing together in co-planar relationship a pair of members 20, 21 each having a sectional shape such that it defines a pair of spaced apart parallel abutment surfaces 22, 23, is of generally planar form and includes a body portion 10 having a predetermined thickness as measured in the direction between the abutment surfaces and a pair of leg elements 11 each having a thickness less than the predetermined thickness as measured between the abutment surfaces and extending from the body portion with their inner end parts in substantially co-planar relationship, the leg elements being adapted to engage between the abutment surfaces of the members 20, 21 and the free end parts of the leg elements being inclined relative to the inner end parts so that the free ends of the leg elements are displaced out of the plane containing the co-planar inner end parts so that, then the leg elements are engaged within the members, there is frictional locating engagement between each leg element and the abutment surfaces of each member. As shown the coupling piece is cut in a fishbone pattern from an extruded strip having a crosssectional shape as shown in Fig. 4 to provide a body portion 12 and side portions 15, 16 each having a rib 19 which is snap-engageable with a corresponding slot formed in a rib 23 of each of the members 20, 21 to be coupled together. In another form, Fig. 5 (not shown), the ribs 19 are replaced by a number of smaller ribs formed on the upper and lower surfaces of the body portion 12.
