Planes, construction of.-In order that aeroplane wings may be readily assembled or dismantled, they are composed of rib units sliding on parallel frame members 2, 3. The units are spaced by ferrules 10<a>, 10 sliding on the members 2, 3 and abutting against ferrules 7, 7<a> integral with the ribs. Each rib has lugs 8, 8<a>, 9, 9<a> for securing the spars 5, 6, while the ferrules 10<a> may also engage the spars 6 by filler-strips 11. The members 2, 3 are secured to an end frame 1, while the rib unit at the inner end is secured by nuts &c. and may carry integral pivot knuckles for connexion to the fuselage.
