[Also in Division B8] A device for feeding rod-like articles such as filter stubs comprises a rotor 13 which is rotatable about an axis and includes a guide conduit 17 or passage extending from one of its ends to the other, the conduit 17 or passage having one end 18 substantially on the axis and the other end 19 situated radially outwardly from the axis so that an article introduced into either end will traverse a curved path of progressively increasing or decreasing radius at a progressively increasing or decreasing lateral speed respectively. Filter stubs 1 are fed from a hopper 1 into the flutes 3 of a suction conveyer drum 4, and are transferred thence into flutes 10, 11 formed in the fluted members 9 of two rotor assemblies 7, 8 rotating in unison therewith. Transfer of a stub 1 from a flute 10 is effected by application of suction to passages 12 supplied via a stationary manifold 20. Compressed air is then applied through a conduit 21 to blow the stub from the flute 10 into and along the conduit 17 to enter a stationary conduit 22 for forwarding to a filter or filter-cigarette making-machine. As shown, two rotor assemblies 7, 8 each with two guide conduits 17, are provided. Alternatively, only one or more than two assembles 7, 8 could be provided and the or each assembly could be provided with only one guide conduit 17.
