Abstract

1,225,784. Moulding concrete kerbstones. W. FINCH (APPLEY BRIDGE) Ltd. 23 Aug., 1968 [16 Nov., 1967], No. 52114/67. Heading B5A. In an hydraulic moulding press for simultaneously moulding a pair of rectangular concrete kerbstones, each pressing die 11 for a kerbstone mould cavity 13A, in a mould table (13), Fig. 1 (not shown), is actuated by a pair of hydraulic cylinders 12 whereby a closer spacing of the mould cavities is possible than by using a single cylinder. Each mould cavity 13A is provided with a profiled perforated plate in the base thereof for drainage of water during pressing, when the table (13) is supported by ribbed plates 15 on the press platen (10) and which are located beneath each cavity 13A and permit the water to drain away. After pressing, the mould table (13) is removed from the press to an ejection device (14) where the kerbstones are ejected by plates (16), upwardly displaced by a ram (17). The cylinders (12) may be hydraulically interconnected to apply equal pressures, and each cylinder pair may also be displaced independently of the other.
