Abstract

1,225,716. Stripping cables. E. N. VORONTSOV. 29 April, 1969, No. 21713/69. Heading H2C. Two or more cutting members comprise shears formed by a blade 4 fixed relative to the axis of a milling cutter 3 which rotates towards the direction of feed of a wire or cable 5 passing between the members, each "cutter-blade" pair being rotatable about the axis. In the embodiment there are two such members, the cutters 3 are driven through gearing 11, 12 by pinions 9 rotating about a stationary gear-wheel 8. The pinions are driven by a cross-piece 14 mounted on a rotating drive member 13 which also causes the "cutter blade" pair to rotate about the axis. The length of wire to be processed may be limited by a plate 15 and stop block 16. The separation of the "cutter blade" pairs may be altered by a bush (6), enabling various sizes of wire to be processed.
