Abstract

Log debarking apparatus, comprising a debarking member rotatable about an axis and, having cutting members therein, for debarking, spaced apart: a pair of members for rotating the trunks, having in the same gripping parts trunks, which do not remove the bark and transmit torque, each member being rotatable about its own axis, the axis of each one of said members being inclined relative to the axis of said debarking member; means for rotating said trunk turning members in opposite directions, for helically displacing the trunk axially beyond said debarking member; means for rotating said debarking member in a direction opposed to the rotation of the trunk imparted by said rotating members, and at a speed that cuts the bark of the entire circumference of the trunk; and characterized in that it has means that mount said turning members for movement approaching and separating from said debarking; and means responsive to movement of said swing members by moving closer to and away from said debarking member to move the swing members, in order to vary the relative inclination of said axes.
