Abstract
1,225,647. Acoustic direction finder. LICENTIA PATENT - VERWALTUNGS G.m.b.H. 5 July, 1968 [19 Aug., 1967], No. 32361/68. Heading H4D. A rotatable tank turret is provided with both acoustic and optical sighting devices to permit the turret cannon to be directed at a target during darkness with a minimum risk of detection. The target sounds are detected by the acoustic receivers 13, 14 to provide signals at the indicator 16 and the headphones 17 which approximately locate the target. The turret 11 is directed in the target direction and the infra-red searchlight switched on to permit precise alignment of cannon 10 by the telescopic sight 18.
