Abstract

1,224,477. Selective printing. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd. 21 Nov., 1968 [23 Nov., 1967; 8 March, 1968], Nos. 53328/67 and 11415/68. Heading B6F. In an electromagnetic printing apparatus, a latent magnetic image on a drum 4 is developed with powder 6 by means of a magnetized rotatable cylinder 1 or the like. A plurality of rotatable cylinders (1, 1A, 1B), Fig. 2, not shown, may transfer the powder to the image-. bearing surface. The rotatable cylinder may be replaced by a band, or by a frusto-conical member (Fig. 4, not shown) for developing images on a vertical surface. The powder may be deposited on the rotatable cylinder by impeller means in the form of a rotatable longitudinally grooved roller (27), Figs. 5, 6, not shown, partially immersed in powder, or a helically fluted roller housed in a slotted sleeve (Fig. 7, not shown).
