Abstract

1,223,876. Vibratory sieves. RHEWUM RHEINISCHE WERKZEUG-UND MASCHINENFABRIK G.m.b.H. 14 May, 1968 [6 June, 1967], No. 22726/68. Heading B2H. The throughput of a sieve in which the sieve fabric is in direct contact with vibrating means is increased by vibrating the sieve fabric in a direction transverse to its surface, interrupting the vibration of the sieve fabric for a time equal to or greater than the time taken for the particles being sieved to settle down on the fabric, and then repeating the action. Vibration may be effected by electronically controlled electro-magnetic vibrators. The vibrators may act on the screen fabric individually, in groups or in rows. The vibration may be interrupted at several points of the sieve fabric at intervals varying from one another and the intensity of vibration may vary from one part of the sieve fabric to another.
