Abstract

1,223,655. Curing mercaptan-termfnated polymers; polysulphides. B. F. GOODRICH CO. 7 Feb., 1969 [8 Feb., 1968], No. 6632/69. Headings C3P and C3R. A liquid polymer containing terminal mercaptan groups is cured in the presence of a liquid ester of a polyhydric alcohol which contains at least two terminal vinyl groups and an amine cure promoter. In the examples mercaptan terminated butadiene-acrylonitrile copolymer and a mercaptan terminated polymer consisting of repeating bis(ethyleneoxy)methane groups connected by disulphide linkages are cured by trimethylol propane triacrylate or diethylene glycol diacrylate or a mixture thereof.
