Abstract
1,223,155. Photo-conductive layer. RICOH K.K. 8 April, 1968 [12 April, 1967], No. 16813/68. Heading HlK. The light sensitivity of a photo-conductive layer is increased by including a merooyanine dye of formula wherein X is wherein R is an alkyl radical having 1 to 5 C atoms and m and h represent integers including O. In the specific embodiments a mixture of ZnO with a silicone or alkyd resin and a volatile nitrogen base is sensitized with the dye and coated on to an aluminium support or electrically conducting paper to give an electrophotographic plate. In the embodiments R is CH 3 or C 2 H 5 whilst m and n are 1 or 2.
