Abstract

1,223,048. Magnesia refractory. VEITSCHER MAGNESITWERKE A.G. 1 Aug., 1968 [4 Aug., 1967], No. 36775/68. Heading C1A. [Also in Division F4] A refractory material having the following percentage composition by weight. Sintered magnesia 2À0-6À0 mm. 15%, 0-0À7 mm. 60%, 0-0À1 mm. 20%, disodium phosphate 5%, together with between 6 and 12%, preferably 10% of water is used to form a refractory lining or lining body or a repair for such a lining or lining body. A porous coating of the following composition, sintered magnesia 2À5-5À0 mm. 10%, 0-0À7 mm. 55%, 0-0À1 mm. 15%, sawdust 15%, disodium phosphate 5% is then applied to its top surface, the sawdust being burnt out to form the pores. Alternatively a foaming agent, a granular plastics material or an inorganic fibrous material may replace the sawdust. The pre-forming substances may comprise between 10 and 20% by weight of the coating mass.
