Abstract

[Also in Division F1] An hydraulic or pneumatic ram 1 operating the bucket of an earthworking machine has a piston 7 provided with valves 8 arranged to inter-connect the chambers on opposite sides-, of the piston 7 when at its end of travel position, the resulting pressure drop in the supply line 2 being used to operate a pressure switch 14 and light a lamp 13. To prevent lighting of the lamp 13 when the pressure in the lines 2 is low due to distributor 9 being in the neutral position shown, the electrical circuit to the lamp is broken by contacts 11 a, 11 b operated by an abutment 10 coupled to the distributor 9. A valve 15 ensures that the pressure switch 14 is exposed to the higher of the pressures in the lines 2.
