Abstract
1313860 Masted lift trucks HYSTER CO 19 May 1970 [11 June 1969] 24185/70 Heading B8H [Also in Division F1] Opposite ends of hydraulic pressure actuated spring centred spool valves 25, 27, Fig. 2, for controlling the direction of movement of doubleacting lift and tilt cylinders 19, 21 of a fork lift truck (10), Fig. 1 (not shown), are connected by low pressure lines 35, 35 and 37, 38 to the outer ends of bores 44 extending through a housing wall 46, and spaced from an hydraulic jet orifice 73 provided in a nozzle 72 mounted on one end of a manually operated shaft 58 mounted for universal movement in a further end wall of the housing 50; the four bores 44 having their longitudinal axes lying in more than one plane and the nozzle being movable so as to be selectively in alignment with at least one of the bores 44 whereby the associated valve 25, 27 may be actuated. The nozzle 72 is biased to the neutral position in which the jet impinges against an unapertured portion of wall 46 by means of a resilient seal 76; the fluid having been supplied by a pump 40, line 78 and an axial bore 80 then being discharged through a conduit 82 to drain 84. The nozzle is placed in an operative position by moving the shaft 58 into one or other locating slots 89 in a guide plate 87. A further manually-positioned jet orifice and corresponding bores, are arranged in parallel with nozzle 72 and bores 44 for controlling the valves of further actuators. In a modification the jet may be positioned so as to be directed through two or more of the bores thereby actuating two or more distributing valves.
