Abstract

1,221,815. Apparatus for cleaning gases. H. BRANDT and A. KRITZLER [trading as APPARATEBAU ROTHEMUHLE BRANDT & KRITZLER], 2 May, 1968, No. 20936/68. Heading B1R. In apparatus for cleaning gases the gases to be cleaned are directed downwardly at an angle onto the surface of a body of water in the base of a chamber 10 below perforated plates 17, the plates 17 being surrounded by upstanding edge 18 and being supplied with water through ducts 13 dipping at their lower ends in the body of water and having their upper ends covered by baffle-plates 29. In operation water overflows from plates 17 over the edges 18 into channels 19 to a settling section of the base separated from the section of the base adjacent to gas inlet by an inclined perforated plate.
