Abstract

1,220,823. Disazo dyestuffs. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 22 July, 1968 [21 July, 1967], No. 33704/67. Heading C4P. The invention comprises reactive disazo dyestuffs of general formula wherein A and B are benzene or naphthalene nuclei of which at least one bears a sulphonic acid group, e.g. a 2-sulpho-1,5-phenylene radical. They are prepared by (a) coupling the diazo compound of an amine of the formula with a coupling component of the formula preferably at pH 6 to 7, or (b) reacting the corresponding diaminodisazo or monoamino dichloro - s - triazinylaminodisazo dye with two and one moles of cyanuric chloride respectively. The product may be stabilized by addition of alkali metal acid phosphates or dialkyl aminoaryl sulphonic acids. The dyes give dark green and greenish blue shades on cellulosic textile materials and may be used to produce blacks.
