Abstract

1,213,988. Disazodyestuffs. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 4 July, 1968 [26 July, 1967], No. 34395/67. Heading C4P. The invention comprises reactive disazodyestuffs of general formula wherein B is a benzene or naphthalene radical containing at least one sulphonic acid group and either a nitro or a dichloro-s-triazinylamino group, and A is a benzene or naphthalene radical which contains at least one sulphonic acid group and a dichloro - s - triazinylamino group if B does not. Preferably A and B are phenyl radicals each containing one sulphonic acid group or naphthalene radicals each containing two sulphonic acid groups. They are prepared by (a) coupling a diazonium compound of an amine A-NH 2 with a coupling component of general formula or (b) reacting one mole of cyanuric chloride with one mole of a disazo dye of general formula wherein A 1 and B 1 are benzene or naphthalene radicals containing at least one sulphonic acid group and in which either B 1 contains an amino group or A 1 contains an amino group and B 1 a nitro group. The dyes may be stabilized by addition of alkali metal acid phosphates or dialkylaminoaryl sulphonic acids. The dyes give dark green and dark blue shades on cellulosic textile materials and may also give black shades.
