Abstract

122,078. Taylor, L. B., and Parsons, E. H. March 14, 1918. Sights.-Consists in forming a rack in one of the side edges of the hinged leaf or bar of a backsight, by a series of parallel notches which terminate within the edge, leaving the marginal portions entire. The rack is adapted to be engaged by a spring detent, mounted in the elevating-slide. In the construction shown, the hinged bar a has on one edge a rack formed by parallel notches shaped as shown in Figs. 3 and 4. The detent c, Figs. 2 and 5, is made in one piece and has a tooth c<2> adapted to engage the rack.
