Abstract

1,218,989. Infants sleeping bag. H. STERNAGEL. 4 March, 1968 [1 Sept., 1967], No. 10307/68. Heading A3V. [Also in Division E2] A sleeping and kicking bag 1 for infants comprising a garment-like upper part 3 having a longitudinal closure 2, adapted to be secured at chest height to a mattress and/or bed by retaining straps 11 has the retaining straps releasably attached above the mattress to two cloth retaining parts 4 and 5, at 12 and 15, which are attached to the back of the bag (seams 6 and 7) and are substantially wider in the region of the places of attachment to the bag than the retaining straps. The parts 4 and 5 are preferably triangular but may also be rectangular or semi-oval. The closure is preferably at the back of the bag but may also be at the side or front thereof. In this latter case parts 4 and 5 may be made from one strip of material. The straps may be attached to the side rails of a cot to enable the infant to sit up without falling over.
