Abstract

121,758. Schmick, H. J. Oct. 30, 1917. Geared pulley-hoists.-In toothed gearing for lifting-jacks, hoisting-apparatus', &c. comprising one or more spiral cams 3 engaging curved teeth 12 on a wheel 11 rotating in a plane parallel to the axis of the driving-shaft carrying the cams, the curved faces 14 of the teeth are parallel and are struck from points in the central plane of the wheel. The faces of the cams are concave so as to fit against the convex surfaces of the wheel 11 between adjacent teeth. The ends of the cams are bevelled at the 4, Fig. 3, so as to engage readily the teeth 11. The gear is self-sustaining. In a geared pulley-hoist, chain-wheels are secured to the shafts of the head 2 and wheel 11.
