Abstract

121,651. Goldstone, M. H. Jan. 11, 1918. Fusible cut-outs.-In a cartridge fuse, the base a is deeply recessed and perforated on one side to permit a bus bar d to pass right through. The fuse-carrier f has spring contacts h, which, when the carrier is inserted in the base, bear on the bus bar and on a fixed contact e, held on the base by a screw a<2>. The carrier has a hollowed projection g, which enters the recess in the base. The fuse wire h<5>, Fig. 5, passes through a groove placed at an angle of 45 degrees to the axis of the carrier. A vulcanite packing-strip i is used to hold the base securely on the bus bar. A number of cartridge fuses may be mounted together, on one bar or one base having a number of recesses may be used with several fuse-carriers.
