Abstract

[Also in Division D2] A paper for recording images by electrophotography comprises a paper base having coated thereon or impregnated therein an alkali metal salt of a polyolefinic acid and carrying a layer of photoconductive material e.g. a dispersion of ZnO in a polymer medium. The olefinic acid may be acrylie, crotonic, isocrotonic, α-methacrylic, vinylacetic, maleic or dimethylacrylic acid. The paper may also be impregnated or coated with clay, whiting, silica, ureaformaldehyde resin tartaric acid or citric acid to reduce the tack of the alkali metal salt. The paper may also contain mannogalactan gum or sodium chloride which modify the solvent resistance of the paper. The alkali metal salt is applied to the side of the paper base which does not receive a coating of photoconductive material.
