Abstract

1,216,098. Air cleaner, centrifugal separator. CSEPEL AUTOGYAR. 17 Jan., 1968 [8 Feb., 1967], No. 2629/68. Headings B1T and B2P. An air cleaner, for an I.C. engine or compressor intake, has a tangential inlet 1 into annular chamber A, from which the air passes through apertures formed by pressed out vanes in annular partition 2 (Figs. 2, 3, not shown) into annular chamber B, in which the air spirals downwards, the vanes being oriented to maintain the initial circumferential flow, into an oil bath; most of the dust 'being centrifugally separated in chamber B and impinging on shoulder D, the air passing upwards through frusto-conical perforate baffle 5, covered with expanded material 6, and annular filter element 7. Element 7 has an impervious outer peripheral wall and an interior tube 11, between which the plastics, vegetable fibre or wire cloth filtering medium is enclosed by upper and lower perforated or wire cloth annular discs 8. The housing 3 has a removable lid 9 and its outlet coupling 12 has a screw clamp 16.
