1,215,705. Developing apparatus. ADDRESSOGRAPH -MULTIGRAPH CORP. Dec.18, 1967 [Dec.30, 1966(2)], No.57403/67. Heading G2A. A developing apparatus comprises an applicator roller 12 associated with a liquid developer supply source 24 and a backing pressure roller 14, said applicator roller surface having an average roughness of 10-100 micro inches and being non- porous and resilient and having associated therewith a wiper acting along its length to reduce the quantity of liquid developer carried in said surface such that the developer is applied to a copy sheet at a rate not exceeding 3À0 gms/sq. m. The wiper may be a rod rotable manually or automatically and in the latter case may oscillate clockwise and anti-clockwise or may be a blade which may reciprocate. The surface of the wiper is coated with a fluorocarbon.
