Abstract

1,215,127. Motor graders. CATERPILLAR TRACTOR CO. 3 Feb., 1969, No. 5683/69. Heading E1F. The vertical spacing of a grader blade beneath the blade-carrying circle of a motor grader can be varied as required by suitable adjustment of linkage by which the blade is supported from the circle. Preferably the blade is supported by one or more sets of links 49, 53, 57 of which two links 47, 53 of the or each set are carried by a pivot pin 52 mounted on a support structure 41 releasably to the circle. The L shaped link 57 of the or each set is pivoted at 55 on an associated link 53 and is pivoted at 46 to the blade 19, which is also pivoted to the link or links 47 so that on retraction or expansion of the jack 62 extending between the structure 41 and the upper limb of the link 57 of the or each set the blade is raised or lowered without variation of the tilt thereof.
