Abstract

1,212,959. Ships' derricks. S. KURIBAYASHI. 13 Nov., 1969, No. 55620/69. Heading B8B] A marine derrick boom 4 is pivoted to a gooseneck member 3 by a pin 5. The longitudinal pivoting axis of the gooseneck member is disposed at an angle #, normally 10 to 40 degrees, to derrick post 1 so that its upper part is closer to the post 1 than its lower part. A swivel ring 7 is mounted at the top of the boom 4 and may have four or two protruding lugs, Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown), for securing wires and blocks.
