Abstract
121,149. Gunnill, E. Nov. 5, 1917. Labelling and stamp-applying.-To enable paper and like letters, numerals, designs, &c. to be affixed to shop windows, signboards, and other surfaces for advertising and other purposes, or to enable stamps or labels to be affixed, a separate pile A is made of each letter, numeral, &c., and each pile is held together by means of a thin coating a<1> of paraffin wax or other readily fracturable material, which allows the end unit of the pile, when its adhesive surface is wetted and pressed upon the surface to which it is to be affixed, to be separated by merely lifting the pile. A coat of collodion may be applied to the wax coating. To enable the piles to be manipulated they are glued to handles B, which may be provided with interlocking joints b<2>, b<3> to enable words to be set up and all the letters thereof to be affixed in one operation. To facilitate forming signs, templets C, Fig. 6, may be secured to the surface by means of rubber suction disks C<1>.
