Abstract
1,211,378. Prestressed concrete structures. SIMON-CARVES Ltd. 27 Aug., 1968 [1 Sept., 1967], No. 40005/6. Heading E1W. A concrete structure 36 is post-tensioned by wires or strands 26 with upset ends located against anchor members which are pulled to a position outside the structure, a settable synthetic resinous material then being injected via flexible and rigid tubes 68, 66 into the end casings 12 which are sealed off by plates 70. The central hole 71 through each plate 70 for the pipe 66 is sealed by means of a plug 80 (Fig. 4, not shown) and the resulting recess 82 (Fig. 4) filled with grout after the wires have been cut. The wires may have intermediate cold-formed deformations to improve the bond.
