Abstract

1,210,567. Casting processes. BOHLER & CO. A.G. GEBR. 28 March, 1968 [28 March, 1967], No. 14862/68. Heading B3F. [Also in Division C7] An electroslag refining process for steel intended to have a high sulphur content is characterized in that remelting is effected wit a slag which has a sulphur contact such that there is no net transfer of sulphur between the slag and the steel to be remelted and oxidation of sulphur in the slag is prevented by providing a reducing atmosphere over the slag.
