Abstract

1,210,470. Two-part couplings. CRITCHLEY BROS. Ltd. 20 June, 1969 [22 June, 1968], No. 29907/68. Heading H2E. An electrical connector comprises a body 37 formed with projecting parts 16, 17 to engage in a locating channel-section rail 10, and having multiple connecting means 22 for connection to an electrical component 28 and terminals 38 connected internally to connecting means 22. The connecting means 22 may be formed as a ring (as shown), or as rows of contacts (Figs. 2, 5, not shown), corresponding to either a plug or socket portion. Guide means may be provided for locating the component in one correct position. The terminals 38 may be arranged in rows as shown or located one above the other in side portions above the upper surface of the body and be provided with locking screws 39 or other means (24, 26), (Fig. 1, not shown), for securing an external electric wire. The connector may be formed with a bottom part containing the flanges to which any upper part with the desired arrangement of connecting means 22 may be bonded.
