Abstract

1,207,843. Spring door closer with check device. J. BROWN. 5 Nov., 1968 [5 Aug., 1967], No. 36057/67. Heading E2M. The operating arm 14 of a door closer is connected to the pivot pin 12 by means of a spigot portion of the pin which extends from the housing 10 and is formed, adjacent the end face 17, with a plurality of recesses 19 which taper towards the inner portion of the pivot pin, providing a scalloped tooth formation which engages with complementary teeth in a socket (not shown) in the operating arm. In addition, the spigot portion has an internally threaded blind bore 18 which receives the shank of a threaded fastener (not shown), the head of which bears on the surrounds of the socket to clamp the spigot portion in the socket.
