Abstract

1,207,234. Magnetic printing. E. I. DU PONT DE NEMOURS & CO. 8 May, 1968 [8 May, 1967], No. 21850/68. Heading B6C. In a thermomagnetic copying apparatus a magnetized recording member 35 is mounted on a transparent drum and passed between an Xenon flash emitting lamp 25 and a document to be copied which is carried by a flexible belt 22. The member 35 is heated to near Curie point by the direct radiation of a pulse of radiation from the lamp 25 and areas of the member are heated by reflection from the non- image areas of the document to a temperature above the Curie point such that the said areas are demagnetized. This leaves a magnetized image which is developed by toner 27.
