Abstract
1,206,877. Valves. CHARBONNAGES DE FRANCE. 11 July, 1968 [12 July, 1967], No. 33179/68. Heading F2V. A fluid control valve has a main valve comprising a stationary spool 8 and a sleeve 3, and a pilot closure member 24 which is moved on to seat 10 when electromagnet 4 is energized so permitting fluid from inlet bore P and orifice 29 to increase the pressure in chamber 26 to lift sleeve 3, against the action of spring 7, until closure member 24 contacts abutment 18. If now electromagnet 4 is de-energized, the pressure in chamber 26 holds the parts in this position where the grooves in the sleeve and spool interconnect inlet bore P and exhaust bore R with parallel bores (A, B, Fig. 2, not shown) in the spool which are connected to the load devices. Subsequent energizing of electromagnet 13 retracts abutment 18 against the action of spring 20 so permitting closure member 24 to be moved off seat 10 by the pressure in chamber 26 which then exhausts to bore R via bores 12 and r3 as the sleeve is returned by spring 7 to the position shown where the connections to the load are reversed.
