Abstract
1315880 Valves SIRAI SRL SOC ITALIANA REGOLATORI AUTOMATICI INDUSTRIALI 28 Sept 1971 [28 Sept 1970] 45107/71 Heading F2V A pilot-operated valve comprises an inlet 10, outlet 12 and exhaust 14, the outlet being selectively connectible to exhaust (as shown) via a passage 62 of a member 64 which is spring- loaded to prevent communication between the inlet and outlet, and to the inlet 10 when a piston-member 52 is moved to firstly close the passage 62 with its lower face and with continued movement move the member 64 away from its seat against the spring force. The movement of the piston member 52 is controlled by an electronmagnetically operated pilot valve having an armature 24 housing two pistons 22, 26 spring-urged outwardly on to fixed abutments, the pistons serving as valve members for parts 20, 28 respectively. A fluid passageway 16 leads from the inlet to the port 20 through which fluid can flow to the chamber 48 above the piston-member 52. Under these conditions piston-member 52 is moved downwardly to allow communication between inlet and outlet as described. When the electromagnet is energized the armature 24 is moved against a spring 44 to close the part 20 and open the part 28. The chamber 48 is then exhausted via port 28 and the piston member 52 is moved upwardly under fluid pressure to allow communication between the outlet 12 and exhaust 14.
