Abstract

1,206,124. Shuttleless loom. SOMET S.p.A. SOC. MECCANICA TESSILE. 26 Sept., 1967, No. 43814/67. Heading DIE. In a loom in which weft inserters operated by flexible tapes meet at the middle of the shed to transfer weft from one to the other, the lower warp sheet, on which the tapes 3 run in the shed, rest on a track 9 of velvet or polished laminated plastic. The weft inserter heads 5 have a nylon weaving strip 11 attached to their rear face which runs against the reed; in the case of the inserter which takes the end of the weft into the shed, the strip is of L-shape to provide clearance 13 for the weft T, whereas the inserter which receives the weft at the middle of the shed has a rectangular wearing strip.
