Abstract

1,131,383. Shuttleless looms; weft inserters. R. DEWAS. 24 May, 1967 [25 May, 1966], No. 24066/67. Heading DIE. To reduce friction the flexible tape 6 of a weft inserter is guided outside the shed by guides constituted, at least in part, by a dry solid lubricant, e.g. graphite or polytetrafluoroethylene. The tape is moved by a toothed wheel 22, engaging in central perforations in the tape, and passes through a straight guide 72 and an arcuate guide 9 which oscillate with the sley. Figures 2 to 9 (not shown) show various cross-sectional shapes of guides composed wholly or partly of the lubricant.
