Abstract

1,206,080. Safety harness. FORD MOTOR CO. Ltd. 3 April, 1969 [13 April, 1968], No. 17453/69. Heading A3V. A three point vehicle safety harness has a portion 6 anchored at or near a point midway between the sides of the vehicle and comprising a flexible element 6 which remains in whatever attitude it is bent into. The flexible element 6 may comprise a cord of steel or synthetic material surrounded by a flexible vertebrated tube, or may be a soft-wire insert surrounded by the cord or woven into the material of the harness. The element 6 carries a part 8 of the harness lock and is stated to facilitate use thereof. Belt sections 1 and 2 may be distinct parts joined at lock section 5, or one continuous section.
