Abstract

1,205,300. Tubular filter element. KNECHT FILTERWERKE G.m.b.H. 13 Dec., 1968 [20 Dec., 1967], No. 59393/68. Heading B1T. The element is made by: (i) folding a sheet to concertina form to provide longitudinal pleats 5; (ii) securing the transverse margins of each pleat together, thus defining a plurality of radially-extending . inwardly-opening pockets, (iii) expanding and moulding a resilient sealing ring 2 around the inner ends of the margins at both ends of the element. As described, rings 2 are dome-shaped in cross-section to provide good sealing with the element housing; the seal material is foamed polyurethane. The filter material is paper or a fabric of natural or synthetic fibres.
