The drop weight arrangement 1, 4 of a recording pen with a tubular nib, is constructed at least partly of magnetic material or as a permanent magnet, so that movement of the clearing wire in at least one direction is induced by a solenoid 2 or a permanent magnet. When a magnetic material is used, a spring or gravity is used as a restoring force (Figs. 2 and 3).
