Abstract

1,029,782. Pencil holders. T. F. H. BARREY. June 17, 1964 [Sept. 23, 1963], No. 37419/63. Heading B6P. In a propelling pencil of the general construction disclosed in Specification 309,003, the lead 9 is frictionally held in a flexible elastic tubular member 8 (e.g. of polythene) in which slides the propelling rod 10 without a surrounding compression spring. The rod 10 is adhesively, or by means of an enlargement 12, secured to the upper end of the member 8 to prevent the latter being forced over the lateral projection 11 of the rod. Alternatively, a nylon or metal collar may be fitted on to the end of the rod.
