Abstract
1,204,651. Current flow indicator. R. E. GUNTHER. Jan.1, 1969 [Feb.23, 1968], No.43/69. Heading G1U. A current flow indicator system for indicating current flow in A.C. powered equipment 3 incorporates a thyristor 6 for connection with its anode cathode path in series between an A. C. power source 1 and the equipment 3, a circuit 7 for triggering the thyristor, when so coupled, from the A. C. source and a neon indicator 4 forming part of a circuit for connection in parallel with the equipment, the indicator circuit having a current demand substantially lower than the holding current of the thyristor so that in the event that current does not flow in the equipment, the thyristor holding current will not be maintained and the neon will not operate. A variable resistor may be connected in parallel with the neon circuit to provide a sensitivity adjustment, Fig.4 (not shown). A triac may be used in place of the thyristor to provide conduction on both half cycles of the supply Fig.3 (not shown). The thyristor may be fixed from the tapping point of a series RC arrangement connected between its anode and cathode, Fig. 2 (not shown).
