A clipping circuit comprises two diodes 17, 18 in series with the signal path, normally biased with constant current from a voltage source 22 via resistors 20, 23 and a constant current transistor 10. Diodes 17, 18 respec. tively become non-conducting when the sine wave at 26 becomes appreciably less and greater than the potential at 19 so that the peaks of the sine wave are removed. The load 29 may be a transistor.
