Abstract

1,204,534. Sewage purification. APOTHE KERNES LABORATORIUM FOR SPECIALPRAEPARATER A.S. 10 Nov., 1967, No. 51239/67. Heading C1C. Sewage is purified by adding a lignin-sulphonic acid, or a salt thereof at a pH between 4 and 5, separating the precipitated substances, and fermenting the remaining liquid with a fermentation fungus, or similar organism, or otherwise biologically purifying said liquid, or both. The precipitation may be effected in two or more stages, using lignin-sulphonic acids, or salts thereof, of different molecular weights. After removal of the precipitate, ammonia or sugarcontaining substances may be added before or during fermentation.
