Abstract

1405690 Purifying sewage JOHNSON CONSTRUCTION CO AB 17 Dec 1973 [18 Dec 1972 18 June 1973] 58435/73 Heading C1C A method for biologically and chemically purifying sewage comprises subjecting the sewage to a biological purification process according to the activated sludge method (in an aeration tank (4)-see Fig. 1), followed by sedimentation in a sedimentation unit (a contact chamber (6) and a sedimentation tank (8)); a fast flow is continuously conducted from the outlet side of the sedimentation unit, admixed with the fast flow to form floes (in the flocculating tank (14)), and, subsequently the part flow is returned to the sedimentation unit where the floes are separated.
